EDF finally lands British Energy for £12.4 bn and the UK is now dependent on the French state-owned utility for its future in nuclear energy.   Another sell-out of British industry to a foreign firm.  Yet it is the right thing to do: the French have the expertise.  Why the British have not got the expertise and cannot compete is another matter - and annoying.
