There is an argument in the UK that we should emphasise the fact that the Constitutional Treaty rejected by the French and the Dutch is after all only a Treaty, like the Treaty of Rome, the Treaty of Maastricht etc.  I don’t think that would stop the argument!  Of course the word Constitution is not a problem on the continent.  All the other members of the EU have one and look to it to preserve their democracy
